We indexed over 17,000 typefaces from 759 independent foundries and counting (and a few of our favourite market places).

It’s called MegaMegaTypeType because, well it’s an index of mega type with a mission to create the world’s biggest index of typefaces from the world’s best type foundries.

Bookmarks

It started with a bookmarks folder – every designer’s got one. Mine had a few hundred foundry sites in it, collected over years. When I wanted to source new contending fonts for a brand project, I’d visit it, open up my favourite foundries until I had about 20 tabs open, searching for that perfect font. Then I’d end up opening multiple fonts from different foundries until the open tabs doubled!

A rubbish Claude skill

MegaMegaTypeType’s first evolution was a Claude AI skill, until the realisation came that it wasn’t a great skill and it lived on my computer and no one else could use it!

Made for designers

Everything’s filterable by what you’d expect when you’re a designer choosing fonts. Category, Style Use-case and whether it’s paid or free (yes there are some genuinely good free fonts out there). Of course you can search with your own terms and filter by Foundry too.

There’s a brief mode too, where you describe the job in plain English and it returns suggestions back.

To make it even handier, you can create an account, save your favourite fonts, and file them in different projects.

Before starting this project, I genuinely thought I knew all the best font foundries around. Turns out I didn’t know the half of it!!
